Homemade Deep Fried Tortilla Chips with Charred Salsa Verde Recipe
These crispy and delicious homemade deep-fried tortilla chips are ideal for dipping in a flavorful charred salsa verde. Broil or grill the vegetables until charred and tender, then blend them with garlic, cilantro, lime juice, and salt to make the salsa.

Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Prepare the tortilla chips while the oil heats up.
- Cut the tortillas into triangles or whatever shape you want.
- When the oil reaches 350°F, carefully drop in a handful of tortilla triangles and fry them in batches until golden brown and crispy.
- With a slotted spoon, remove the chips and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off excess oil.
- Repeat with the remaining tortilla triangles until they are all fried.
- Preheat the broiler or grill to high for the charred salsa verde.
- On a baking sheet lined with foil, arrange the tomatillos, jalapeño peppers, and onion slices.
- Broil or grill the vegetables for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until charred and tender.
- Add the charred vegetables, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, and salt to a blender or food processor.
- Pulse the salsa until it is mostly smooth but still slightly chunky.
- Serve the tortilla chips alongside the charred salsa verde for dipping.
